Lesson 28-Recapitulation

It is necessary at this point that we have to recapitulate what we have learnt so far.

We saw that to know the time of event, we have to find the significators or the ruling planets or both. We can eliminate the significators by ruling planet method also. After finding the significators by constellation theory, we take those in common with the ruling planets at the moment of judgment. But this concept is not based on scientific principles, for, in that case, finding the significators is not at all necessary!

In the previous articles we learnt that planets in the constellation of the occupants are the strongest. Then come the occupants and then the planets in the constellations of the ruler of the house and finally the ruler.

In the example chart we learnt that Saturn dis, Kethu bukti took the native to an alien country, US. The questions before us were 1) If Saturn could give the result in its disa, why can't the lame planet give the result in its bukti. 2) The idea that the time of the event should be ruled by all the fruitful significators, also was not convincing, because, the antaras (sub sub periods) and the sookshumas (sub-sub-sub periods) might be ruled by the other significators. We also learnt that the transit method , sub theory and negation method are also not reliable.

So today I am going to present a new concept, the Same level (SL) theory. It means that the disa lord must be in the constellation of the occupant or ruler of the house under study. In the same way, since bukti  corresponds to the sub, the bukti ruler must be deposited in the sub of the occupant or ruler of the house. The same analogy might be applied to antharas and sookshumas.

In our example chart, Saturn disa offered the result but it did not offer in its bukti because the cool planet was in the sub of Venus which is not at all related to the IX or XII house which are considered for foreign travel. Mercury also did not offer the result in its bukti because the sub occupied by the scholor was the Dragon's Head Rahu which again, is not an occupant of any of the related houses. The Tail of the Dragon offered in its bukti because its sublord is Moon, an occupant of the IX house.

We will study this concept with more examples in the ensuing lessons.

Lesson 27-Transit for timing of events

We have been discussing that the the negation house theory and the sub theory did not help us to eliminate the significators which do not yield the result in their sub periods in the example chart which is given below.

Now we will discuss on e more concept advocated by the great astrologer Krishnamurthi. He has said that for timing of events transit of the luminaries and the major planets Jupiter and Saturn should be considered. He has also taken the transit of the significators in some cases.

When the native was running Saturn sub period (bukti), Sun has almost made three trips on the zodiac! It is because Saurn bukti in its own disa lasts for 3 years and 3 days. (read how to calculate disa bukti periods here

Next if we consider the transit of the major planet Jupiter. The priest of the demigods was transiting the signs Gemini, Cancer and Leo while the native was running Saturn bukti. Note that Moon is a powerful significator because it not only occupies the IX but also in its own constellation. But the lady did not go abroad.

Saturn transited only the signs Taurus and Gemini.

So we can conclude transit concept is not correct. More over certain events happen after 30 years when Saturn would have made one full round of the zodiac.

In the next lesson, we will learn more.

The native visited the US in in the first week of June 2007 in when Saturn Disa (major period), Kethu bukti (sub period) and Kethu antara (sub sub period) was ruling according to Vimshottari Disa system.

We can eliminate the unfruitful significators using the sub theory. Krishnamurthiji has stressed that the constellation indicates the matter and the sub decides whether it is good or bad. For any planet to offer the desired result, it should be placed in a beneficial sub. Here by 'beneficial' we mean that the sub lord should be related to the beneficial houses. We do not consider the natural characteristics of the sub lord according to the Vedic principles. For example Jupiter, Venus, Mercury and waxing Moon are good and others are bad in Vedic astrology.

According to KP, the sub lord of the significator should not be retrograde, though the significator itself is retrograde. In our example chart we were probing why Saturn did not yield the result. Saturn itself is retrograde but that doesn't matter.

Saturn is in the sub of Venus. Venus is conjoined with Mars, ruler of XII, a contributing house for foreign travel.

By the foregoing discussion we see that we arrive at nowhere using the sub theory for elimination.

In the next lesson we will find some more ways to eliminate the unyielding significators.

The native visited the US in in the first week of June 2007 in when Saturn Disa (major period), Kethu bukti (sub period) and Kethu antara (sub sub period) was ruling according to Vimshottari Disa system.

In the last lesson we raised two questions. To find answers, we have to learn some more concepts. In this lesson we will learn one of the methods to eliminate the significators which are powerless to offer the desired the result..

The KP astrologers use the negation house theory. In the above chart, when we study the IX house for going abroad, the previous house, the VIII automatically becomes detrimental to going abroad. So it is the negation house. Its ruler is the negation planet. Some consider the XII ruler also as the negation planet for all matters.

So in our discussion, we said that Saturn though being a significator did not offer the resultin its sub period. It is in the same sign with Moon, the negation planet ruler of the VIII. Further any planet very close to the Moon is considered, according to my discovery, to be in Samagama or unision with the luminary. In such cases, Moon gains significance. So we can understand that Saturn was impotent to take the native to a foreign land!

According to KP occupation is stronger than rulership. Therefore Moon cannot be considered as a negation planet as the luminary occupies the IX. So the negation theory fails miserably!

In the next lesson, we will learn how to eliminate significators using the sub theory.

Lesson 24-SP Theory, a critical analysis (continued)

The query, ‘When will I go abroad?” by the lady was judged by me on 15th April 2002 at 2-30 pm at 78-12 and 11-39 N.

The birth chart of the lady is portrayed here.

The query is about foreign travel. IX house governs foreign travel. KP astrologers consider the XII house too because going abroad implies life in a far off place.  IX house extends from 18-32 in Leo to 21-33 in Virgo. Kethu, Saturn and Moon are the occupants. Sun is the ruler.
There is no planet in the constellations Ashwini, Makha and Moola ruled by the Tail. None is in Saturn’s constellations Anuradha, Pushya and Uttirabdra pada. Sun is Sravana star owned by the luminary Moon. So the significators are Sun, Moon, Kethu and Saturn. None of the signifying planets  transits the sub of the retrograde planet, Saturn for exclusion from the list.

The XII house is occupied by none. It is ruled by Mars. Venus is in the constellation of Mars, so becomes stronger the General.

The final significators are Sun, Moon, Kethu, Saturn, Venus and Mars.
The lady landed in the US in the first week of June 2007 when Saturn Disa (major period), Kethu bukti (sub period) and Kethu antara (sub sub period) was ruling according to Vimshottari Disa system.

Now the interesting questions are
1) Why did Saturn sub period not yield the result?
2) Why did Destiny not wait until the period when all the significators jointly operate?

Note that Mercury sub period did not offer the result because the Scholar is not a significator of the IX house.

I will try to answer these questions in my next lesson.

Lesson 23-SP Theory, a critical analysis

The essential features of KP System are the Signifying Planet Theory and the Ruling Planet Theory. Here in this article, we will discuss how reliable the SP theory is.

In this method we arrive at the significators applying the constellation theory which says that any planet offers the results of the houses occupied or ruled by its constellation ruler more prominently than the houses ruled by itself. Using this principle we find several signifying planets for the house under probe. The Vimshottari Disa system is adopted for timing of events. The event will happen in the period jointly ruled by the significators.

Let us take an example chart and analyse. A lady born on 15th April 2002 posed this question, “When will I have a child?’ The query was judged on 10th Dec 1974 at 11-30 am at a place whose longitude and latitude are 78-12 E and 11-39 N.
She was married in Feb 1974. She gave birth to a female child in Nov 1975 in Rahu disa, Mercury bukti, and Mercury antara.

The natal chart is as follows:

For child birth we have to consider the V house. We may consider the II house too for expansion of the family. Jupiter is the key planet or ‘karaka’ for the matter.
So let us find the signifying planets of the V house which extends from 21-52 Aries to 19-06 Taurus. No planet occupies the V. Ruler is Mars, the fiery planet. We have to find the planets deposited in the constellation of Mars. Venus is in Dhanishta constellation ruled by Mars. So Venus and Mars are the significators of the V house.
Let us study in the same manner the significators of the II house. Venus, Mars and Jupiter are the occupants. Mercury is in the constellation of Venus. Venus is in the star Dhanishta of Mars, and the ascending node Rahu is in Jupiter’s star Purvabhadra pada. So the significators are Rahu, Venus, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter. In addition the ruler of the II Saturn also should be included in the list. Fortunately for us , there is no planet in any of the constellations of the Deliverer of Justice!

Elimination of the significators: The KP astrologers use different methods to eliminate the significators which will not offer the desired results for various reasons. the one advocated by our Guruji  is based on the sub theory. If a planet is in the sub of a retrograde planet should be omitted. In the above chart, Mars is the only planet posited in the sub of the dreaded Saturn who is retrograde.
So we are left with Rahu, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury and Saturn. Note that a planet may be retrograde but it should not be placed in the sub of a retrograde planet.
The native delivered a female child in November 1975 in Rahu disa, Mercury bukti and Mercury antara.

Now there are several questions to be answered.
1) Why Destiny did not wait until the period when all the significators operate?
2) Why didn’t Saturn bless her with a child in its sub period though it is a significator? In fact she was running Saturn sub period for more than a year after marriage.

This discussion will be continued in the next lesson!

Lesson 22-SP Theory-case study 4 (horary)

We have been discussing in the foregoing lessons the two important methods of predictions of KP System, Ruling Planet method and Signifying Planet method.

We have already learnt the two important concepts of KP.
 1) Any planet offers the results of the houses ruled or occupied by its constellation ruler more prominently than ts own.
2) Occupants of a house are stronger than the rulers.

Order of strength: Planets in the constellations of the occupants, occupants, planets in the constellations of the ruler of the house, and then the ruler.
We will take a concrete example and learn. We have taken a query about child birth. V house rules progeny. Actually according to KP, we have to consider the related houses too. So Krishnamurthy takes the second house, the 'kutumbasthana', the house of family. It is logical because when  a child is born, the family expands. But as mentioned elsewhere, I consider the V house and the karaka, the key planet only. In our example Jupiter, the key planet, is a significator. Read ...

Lesson 21 -RP Theory-case study 5

The following query was judged by me on 15th September 1975.
"When will the wedding bell ring?' The number quoted was 124/249 (optional). The querent was a female.

For marriage we should consider the VII house. But actually our Guruji takes all the relevent house II for family, XI for companionship. I have discarded this method after some experience. I take the relevant house and the Karaka (key planet). Here Venus is the karaka for marriage. so when we judge the ruling planets if Venus is missing, then I think the chances are remote.

Let us cast the horary chart for the moment of judgement and probe. Read the discussion.

Lesson 20-RP Theory-Case Study 4

In this discussion, I am presenting a horary chart with which I judged when one of my customers would buy a gold ornament.

Buy glittering gold items!

The query was judged at 8-40 am on 20th August 1980.
We will be applying the Ruling Planet Theory. So we have to consider the ascending point of the Zodaic and the point where the luminary Moon was transiting at the time of judgement. To help you to know the subs, I am referring the sub-table. Please read the discussion.
