Lesson 6- Ruling Planet Theory

One of the most wonerful techniques of Krishnamurti Paddhati (system) is the Ruling Planet theory. What is the theory? The ruling planets at the time of judgment of a query will be the same as the ruling planets when the event happens. This applies to only horary (a method of delineation based on the present position of planets).

What are ruling planets? They are the ascendant star ruler, ascendant sign ruler, Moon star ruler, Moon sign ruler and the week day ruler. Why do we take Moon? Because, Moon represents the mind and Sun represents the soul. Man does good and bad deeds through his mind.

We consider the moment of judgment because, the moment when the query comes to the mind is like the moment of conception. The moment when the event fructifies is like the delivery of the baby!

In the next lesson we will learn how to judge a query using the ruling planet technique.

Lesson 5- Constellation Theory

What are constellations? They are the apparent divisions of the zodiac based on the movement of Moon. Go through this article for a detailed explanation. Krishnamurti said that a planet offers the results of the houses owned and occupied by its star ruler stronger than its own. Before the advent of KP astrology, astrologers had been using the constellation position of only the luminary Moon, that too for timing of events.

For instance, let us consider a horoscope with ascendant Scorpio. Let Jupiter be at 14-20 Cancer and Saturn at 10 Virgo. Jupiter will be in the constellation Pushya. Pushya is ruled by Saturn which is in the XI house and owns houses III and IV. Jupiter is in IX and rules houses II and V. According to the Constellation Theory, Jupiter will offer the results of the houses XI, III and IV more predominantly than houses III, V and IX.

A discussion of the Constellation Theory with illustrations can be found here.

Lesson 4- Sub Theory

In the seventies an astrologer of repute emerged in South India. He was professor Krishnamurti from Chennai, Tamilnadu India. He was a post graduate who obtained State Rank. He started his research in astrology and later got the blessings of the then Kanchi Shri Sankaracharya. He hit upon the idea of dividing the constellations into subdivisions called subs. This gave him a great success. He was able to predict accurately to the seconds and also in detail.

Krishnamurti made three discoveries. One was that the ruling planets at the time judgment of a query will be the same as those operating when the event happens. Secondly, he said that a planet offers the results of its star ruler more predominantly than itself. He also advocated the sub theory. We will learn in detail in course of time.

The great astrologer rose to fame and started the magazine 'Astrology and Adirshta' to propagate his theories. He visited Singapore and other countries. In his 60s he suddenly took ill while flying and later died.

Lesson 3-Timing of events-Udu Dasa system

An astrologer has to predict whether an event will happen or not, the details of the event and when it will materialize. We will now learn how to find the time when an event will occur.

There are various systems in vogue in Vedic astrology of which Udu Dasa system is the one widely used with accuracy. Read this article to know about the method of timing of events.

Lesson 2- Planetary relationship

In Vedic astrology, planets are friendly, inimical or neutral. How to ascertain this? There are two kinds of relationships temporary and natural. When these two are integrated you know whether a planet is friendly or not to another. We should know about Uccha (Exalted) and Moolatrikona (Dignified) positions of of the planets. You can find a detailed discussion here.
